As soon as March approaches, all organizations go into audit mode and take a stock of their companies to submit year-end reports. Now that we’ve crossed the halfway mark of March, BlogAdda is also in recap mode, and in this week’s edition of Buzzing Blogosphere we look at the blogger activities that were the highlights of the financial year gone back.
#KannaKeepCalm with Star Sports
The IPL fever was at its peak and keeping calm when it came to cricket matches was impossible. This was what inspired the #KannaKeepCalm campaign, where bloggers had to write about what lengths they had gone through to watch a cricket match. There were tons of responses from cricket enthusiasts, the best of whom won vouchers worth thousands of rupees. Howzzat!
State.com is a unique site that helps shape and strengthen opinions. State.com partnered with BlogAdda to give bloggers an exclusive sneak peek into the site and review it. Bloggers have pretty strong opinions on issues, which made it the perfect match. Bloggers loved the opportunity to check out the State website, and 30 bloggers happily reviewed it.
A role model can be the anchor that keeps you rooted during storms or be the compass that points you in the right direction. It is not always that we get to pay tribute to our role models. The #MyRoleModel activity gave bloggers an opportunity to say thank you to people who have inspired them in the form of blog posts, photos and videos. People wrote their heart out, so much so that the First Prize had to be shared by two bloggers!
Does an all expenses paid trip to a foreign destination sound like a dream? Well, it was indeed a dream come for 10 bloggers who won a trip to Malaysia with the #MalaysiaJao contest at BlogAdda. They wrote about 5 things that they would like to experience in Malaysia, and the wishlist of the top 10 bloggers came true as they got to convert their blog post to reality!
Rani Mukherji embodied the strength of a woman in the movie Mardaani, and we at BlogAdda wanted to bring out the bravehearts that live among us. The I Am Mardaani activity did just that – get people to share stories about real life Mardaanis. The stories served as an inspiration for others, and the winners got to attend a special screening of Mardaani and meet Rani Mukherji!
Skyscanner winner announcement
Apparently, BlogAdda was all about fulfilling people’s travel dreams last year as we came up with another activity in association with travel wizard Skyscanner. Bloggers had to write about a magical journey that they would undertake with Skyscanner as their companion. People breathed life into their travel stories and took readers on the ride of their lives through their words. The best blog post won a Skyscanner trip worth Rs. 1 lakh and the other top posts won attractive vouchers too!
Black stands for mystery, and the #WhatTheBlack activity at BlogAdda in association with Colgate also stood for intrigue as this two-tiered activity first asked bloggers to name the top black things in their wishlist and then sent them 5 unusual black things which sparked curiosity among bloggers and their followers. The mystery was solved when the bloggers got the Colgate Charcoal toothbrush and the best bloggers won iPads, giving the activity a perfect end!
Buying a house might be easy, but converting it into a home is pretty difficult. We gave bloggers a chance to design their dream home using Make My Home, and bloggers responded by unleashing their creativity on their home space. The activity was a huge success and the winners walked away with some great prizes, including a Google Nexus 7 and Moto G smartphones!
For the first time in Indian blogging, BlogAdda introduced the concept of collaborative blogging through Game Of Blogs. Participants were divided into teams and asked to jointly weave a story based on set characters, with the promise that the best stories would be published in the form of a novel. After an exciting few weeks, finally the stories took shape and the three best teams making it to the top!
Who doesn’t like childhood stories? If given a chance, all of us would love to revisit the best years of our lives through these childhood stories. BlogAdda and T-Series took bloggers for a nostalgia trip with the Kids’ Hut contest, where bloggers had to talk about the memories associated with their favourite childhood stories. The response that we got was heartwarming, and the winner walked away with a smartphone!
Online shopping is all the rage nowadays, with the only downside being that we don’t realize how much money we’re blowing up because most transactions are online and we don’t see the cash leaving our wallets. This downside was eliminated by BlogAdda and Quikr when bloggers were given Rs. 5000 to experience the Quikr site and blog about the experience. It was double dhamaka for participants as they shopped to their hearts’ content and the best blog posts also won vouchers worth thousands of rupees!
It is not every day that we get a chance to do something good, and sometimes we can’t give to others despite our good intentions because of constraints on our time and money. This is where BlogAdda’s ‘Blogger Social Responsibility’ came in, and we asked people to Blog To Feed A Child in association with Akshaya Patra. The response was overwhelming and every blog post ensured that an underprivileged kid was fed for a whole year. We’re proud of each and every blogger who contributed with their words.
Gillette in association with BlogAdda asked bloggers this question – Will You Shave? and received some really great responses for the activity. #WillYouShave had bloggers talk about opportunities they lost because of a stubble or chances they grabbed owing to a clean shaven face. Participants were also welcome to tag their blogger friends to ‘Earn Unlimited‘, which set off a chain reaction in the Indian blogosphere. No wonder choosing the winners who won iPads and Moto G smartphones was quite a difficult task!
Blogging can get you many benefits, but is winning a car one of them? Tata Motors in association with BlogAdda invited bloggers to experience the new Bolt in malls across the country, and then blog about it in the Get. Set. Bolt activity. And the grand prize is a brand new Bolt, a prize unheard of till now in the Indian blogosphere!
There are strong, inspirational women all around us, but it’s not always that we can honour them and their achievements. #UseYourAnd gave bloggers a platform to celebrate women who rejected the ‘OR’ of one dimensional labels and embraced their full potential. The winning stories of strength that came out of this activity will surely pave the way for many women to get out of their boxes.
Household chores are generally not spoken about, but this scenario changed when Ariel and BlogAdda brought out the inequality in doing household work out in the open with the #IsLaundryOnlyAWomansJob activity. Bloggers were asked to talk about the startling survey statistics that revealed that women do most of the household chores with little or no help. The theme resonated with bloggers and we got some great responses!
People are always looking for different ways in which to express their crazy love for their partners, and they make for really interesting stories! BlueStone and BlogAdda gave voice to these stories in the #SoundOfLove activity and bloggers came up with some truly impressive stories!
