WOW – “Hello, Old Friend”

As adults, we think twice before calling anyone a friend. But in kindergarten, all it takes is a ‘Hi!’ or a shared tiffin to lay the foundation for a friendship that soon turns into ‘best friendship’. Remember those carefree days? Sitting together in classes and then getting thrown out of class for talking too much? Combining pocket money to buy chaat or kacchi kairis after school? Were you the kind of kids that made fun of teachers after class? Or sneak out of class to hang out or watch the latest movie? No matter what it was you did, or liked to do, chances are you did it with your best friend; your chaddi buddy; your brother/sister from another mother. Do you know what your oldest friend is doing now?

WOW -“It Is Too Late Now”

They say it’s never too late. It’s never too late to start again after a failure. It’s never late to fight for the love you lost! No matter how much things have fallen out of place, there always will be an open window to mend things back. But does this always hold true? Time waits for no one. There are times when it does become too late for us to act. Moments pass away, taking with them our power to change circumstances. Sometimes, it is too late for us to press ‘Undo’ on something that we’ve done, or go back and do something that we hesitated to do in the first place.

WOW -“I always wanted to…”

Before we had scores and tests and salary slips , we had dreams and desires. What we want to be, what we want to do, where we want to go, and so much more. Then there are also those aspirations and fantasies that we secretly harbour in our hearts but never share with anyone. Yet these are never less important than the other ones, in fact some of desires are even more important than the logical ones we tell others. These are the ones that we truly want, the ones that we would love to fulfill first, if given the chance.

WOW: “Superheroes In Disguise”

In the movie ‘Superman Returns, Lois Lane writes an article – “Why the world needs Superman’. She couldn’t be more right. Be it our desi Shaktimaan or Batman, Iron Man or Thor, superheroes are the ones that take on the mantle of keeping the world together through their actions and lessons. Their superhuman powers exceed all evils, their extraordinary gifts fight crimes and protect the public. It is time to bring these superheroes out of the comic books and movies into the real world.

WOW: “Heal the World”

The festive season that started with Ramzaan was marred by news of terrorist attacks, hate crimes and police oppression. Airwaves are chock full of endless stories of killing and atrocities everywhere, leaving no place for a ray of hope to tell us that all is not lost. With custodians of different Gods in an infinite debate, protectors turning predators, racism keeping a constant eye on mankind, environmental damage and more, the world need not wait for a real apocalypse to happen, for destruction is already around the corner. This is the time to ensure that positivity also finds its way to people and gives us hope in these dark times.

WOW: “If Money Disappeared”

Hello July! The month for planning rainy treks and window sill outings with chai is here, and life is indeed beautiful. Along with the hint of enjoyment and romance, there is another thing on the horizon that makes our days worthwhile. And that’s…salary day! That little message in our inbox with ‘Rs. X (which is never enough for us!) ‘Credited’ to your account makes all the struggles worthwhile. Isn’t it strange how most of our activities, plans, aspirations and disappointments stem from money, and our time on Earth revolves around these thin pieces of printed paper?
