Saturday came out of its lazy cocoon with a power packed conversation at #AddaTales. The latent talent of concocting enthralling stories is a part of our genetic make up for generations. This week’s #AddaTales prompt was ‘She Finally Spoke Up…‘ and our participants on Twitter switched on their storytelling mode, giving us an exquisite tale for the weekend. Want to know what she spoke up about? Read on…
She finally spoke up, after what seemed like an eternity. I had been waiting for this moment. It was a great surprise for me. She broke the ice and poured cold water saying,”With whom were you last night, huh?? Found someone?”
“Who said I was searching for someone, don’t speculate and fascinate in your fantasies.”
“Dare you lie to me! I have got to know the truth”, she said with alacrity.
“That’s why I insisted on you taking up a job. An empty mind is a devil’s mind; your mind is at work. But who listens to me? Please leave me alone for some time, it’s becoming tough.”
“Hey, I have kept mum for too long and you are reaching heights of freedom and late night outings.” He was puzzled. He wanted to take rest after the marathon task of investigating the thick-skinned culprits. He had to keep it a secret till the case was resolved; it was a racket and influential people were involved. He was about to leave when Tia locked the door and insisted on not letting him go. She grew frantic in suspicion. His mobile started ringing and it made Tia furious. She was sure that some story of illegal relationship was brewing.
She took the call and started yelling over it. Rohan gave a hard slap on her face and snatched his mobile phone back.
“Where are you Rohan? We’re in trouble. The culprits have fled. Come fast and be alert as they might attack you”, the caller said.
Rohan started for the venue but was stopped by the goons midway. They took him hostage and took control of the car. “Your dynamic officer is our guest, either leave our kingpin or your officer will leave for hell.” They called Tia.
Tia was shaking in fear as she realised her folly. It was time to act. She gathered her courage and called Rohan’s boss, briefing him about all the details of the call. The team intercepted the call and with the help of the police caught hold of them.
Tia reached the police station and apologised for her folly. She thanked God that she did not take any untoward step, else she would have lost her family and a doting husband. She realized that suspicion is like a termite that eats everything to the core.
They exchanged glances and started for the residence. Tia took him in her arms and tears washed off the grievances. All’s well that ends well. She chose to keep silent and enjoy life with Rohan, giving up suspicion.
Wasn’t that a delightful story prompted by #AddaTales this Saturday? Here are the writer’s behind the fascinating #AddaTales.
