Mera Bharat Mahaan! This statement truly evokes a lot of feelings for our motherland. But is our Bharat really Mahaan? We are sure many of you have an opinion on this and we wanted to hear and read what the Indian Bloggers had to say about this. The entries which we received had one thing in common, the love for our country. We requested Ritu Lalit to judge this one and this is what she had to say.
Ritu Lalit writes:
“Mera Bharat Mahan” , whenever I hear this phrase, my mind somehow completes it with the adding of those famous Bollywood lines, “Sau mein se ninyanave beimaan” . This is a stark contrast from the days I was in school. India had won its freedom in the late forties and I was born in early sixties. I was proud of India and we were optimistic then, WE were going to build our country to be something noble and good. Naivety? No I do not think so even today, with the numerous problems we have. We are a very young nation, only 63 years old. We are yet to mature. When BlogAdda invited me to judge this contest, I did not know what to expect. We Indians are such a verbose lot – no wonder we make awesome bloggers and arm chair philosophers! I loved reading all the entries and thanks to all participants for writing such wonderful posts. But the contest was about what WE can do and are doing to make our nation stronger, and what support we need. So I was looking for posts that were not just talk.
- Vivek’s Post was truly inspiring, he captured the fire and fervor of nationalism. Jawahar Lal Nehru’s speech interspersed with his words makes a truly inspiring read.
- The second post that impressed was Swati’s blogpost. Her junoon for our country which she compares with Sunny Paaji’s is adorable.
- The third post that I loved was a strong one, bharath2india’s First Bring Change to Your Locality, a lesson we seem to have forgotten.
There were several posts that left an impact on the mind. Prasanna” s and swaram’s contribution to nation building is laudable, Another post that lingered in the mind for a long time was a short story called Souls for the Nation, it shocks and makes one think about the scars a soldier has to bear for the nation. Another post I want to mention is Sadiya’s, which is quite hilarious, it says, problems? chal hat! which is truly the Indian ethos. Also a special mention for Restless Souldier who has written this very sincere post. Thanks BlogAdda for giving me this opportunity. ?
Ritu Lalit’s profile:
Life is such a funny thing. When I was born, I thought …. was actually convinced that I inhabited the skies …. At about age 6 I realised to my great disappointment that my address was “Earth” ( 3rd rock from the sun ). I found it a very humbling experience. Really not happening …. Ever since, I’ve been wanting to go back into infinity – like they say in Star Trek “Boldly go where no man has gone before ” I’ll get there, one way or another. My interests in astrology, meditation are closely linked with this.
I am also a chatterbox, and I love blogging because no one tells me to shut up here. My family loves it because I don’t drive them insane with my chatter this way. Well, I am a published author, my short stories have been published by the CBSE, I am featured on Ginger Chai, BKhush, Blog Adda and other online sites.
I live in the NCR with my two sons, daughter in law, three dogs and forty fishes, and work at a regular office.
Thanks Blog adda for mentioning me :)> Thank you so much
