Manipal Institute of Communication is presenting the Manipal Media Students’ Convention on April 18 and 19, 2008. MMSC claims that this is a formal convention and is the first and the only venture of this nature in India. The aim of the convention is to bridge the gap between the industry and the individual.
Participants and the guest speakers will discuss and debate about innovations like Blogging, Podcasting, Social Networking. They are also organising the first ever bloggers meet in Manipal. The speakers include Lawrence Liang, Kiruba Shankar, Mukesh Sharma, K Srinivasan, Peter Griffin, Kiran Jonnalagadda, Nishant Shah, Chandrahas Choudhary and Annie Zaidi. MMSC is sponsoring around 40 students or delegates to attend the convention. So far, entries have been received from: Manipal, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Noida, Kanpur, Pilani and Pune.
