IIT Guwahati’s Alcheringa 2017 provides a national level platform for participants and enjoys a footfall of 70000 people and participation from over 400 colleges and will be held from 2nd to 5th February 2017.
Alcheringa 2017 is by far the largest cultural festival of North-East India and since its inception has entered its 21st edition.
With the theme of this edition being ‘Eternal Sands’, Alcheringa 2017 aims to promote the culture and heritage of the World, while portraying elements of the desert cultures such as the Arabian Nights and Egyptian Mythology.
With four action packed pronites in store for you, starting with Ghatam Legend and Grammy Award Winner Pt Vikku Vinayakram on the 2nd, followed by feet stomping action by DJs Carl Nunes and Marnik on the 3rd, then followed by the famous Bollywood artist Javed Ali on the 4thand then finally ending with the thrilling duo of Sajid-Wajid on the 5th, this is one dream you don’t want to wake up from.
This year, Alcheringa is also presenting the ‘Tour-de-Northeast’ which is an exhibition of the 8 north eastern states with exhibitions and performers from the North-Eastern States to promote the rich and diverse culture of North-East India.
