Thank you for such an overwhelming response for the ‘Shave or Crave‘ contest. Time now to announce the winners!

Update: We have sent mails to all the participants for the flipkart vouchers. We request you to kindly respond to us before April 12th or the vouchers will lapse.

The Shave or Crave Team spent a lot of time on hundreds of entries received and here is the final list of winners!

  25. Yes, infact the contest said every entry gets one. If I am not wrong you wrote 3 entries, Mr. Passey (I read them because you write well πŸ™‚ ) and so did I – so we should get 3 vouchers each.. but still waiting…

    I have heard from one of the IPAD winners of this contest that she was charged gift tax for winning the IPAD. She was asked to pay around 7.5k. If this was one of the terms then it should have been clearly stated in the contest T&C. No one likes to be taken for a ride and when it happens to bloggers who spend their valuable time writing and entering contests, then it really saddens me. Even other bloggers who have participated have not got the Flipkart vouchers of 500/. 500 rupees is not a big amount and its not that we really need it, but when we bloggers receive appreciation for our attempts, then we feel happy.
    Blogadda, as one of the premier blogger’s platform in India, I hope you take some measures to rectify this.

    There is a TDS that needs to be cut on the prizes. It is a rule by Government of India.     We apologise for not having mentioned in the T&C since the brand thought it is a standard and we were not aware. The flipkart vouchers have been delayed and we have been following up for that. We promise that by the end of next week, everyone will have the vouchers in their inbox.

    Prasanna, yes, we have learnt and in the future activities, we will clearly mention this.

  35. I agree with Prassana that such TDS could be well specified. Reg tax deduction, shouldn’t that be deducted from the sponsor’s side? I am not sure as I haven’t won anything in any contests…but I believe I have never heard about it from other other winners via other blogging platforms.

    The contests shud specify T&C and ideally the sponsors shud bear the gift tax unless it’s given in currency.

    Besides, not everybody who participated got the confirmation mail either.

  36. Yes I agree as I too did not get any mails as such for vouchers. Other sponsors do not ask for such deductions from winning bloggers. Blogadda team you may like to check again incl with other such platform owners.
