TechKriti’16 – A Tech Lover’s And An Entrepreneur’s Fest

There is no dearth of teachers when you want to learn something. But if we ask what makes learning fun, then it is our friends, classmates, classroom sessions, mistakes, teachers and the gradual process that puts students in the ‘known’ zone from the ‘unknown’ zone. This is the precise reason why a college fest is so special to a student. Be it as an organizer or as a participant. The students of IIT-K are inviting you for Techkriti’16 and here is what you will miss if you say a no.

Since the year 1959, it is 54 years that IIT-K has been creating leaders. IIT-K is an institute of national importance. It’s a playground for great minds and a force to be reckoned with.

IIT- K brings to you the most engaging event and a technical fest, Techkriti’16. The year 2016 will witness Techkriti scale up to explore the dark realms that were till date left unexplored. Their annual technical and entrepreneurship fest ventures to ingrain the hierarchical idea of innovation that has been prevalent in IIT-K since its early days.

Techkriti kicks off two months prior to the main event, going to various cities to conduct prelims in various engineering colleges. There are competitions catering to the likes of all – ECDC, Techkriti Grand Prix, Software Corner to name a few. The international events include Robogames, International Online Programming Contest and ideas. Adopt a tree, Rakhtarpan, Health camps and Spearing Smiles are its primary health campaigns. Women empowerment is also a prominent issue that Techkriti highlights. Woman speakers are invited to share their success stories and inspire others to take the plunge. A new element of Techkriti, in its 2nd year this time, is its open school championship which allows schools in various cities to be a part of this grand fest.

Techkriti ’16 always provides budding engineers an opportunity to gain insights and explore their scientific interests. Day 1 of Techkriti (3rd March) kicked off with a great talk by Dr Hamid Karzai, Honourable Ex-President, Afghanistan. Day 2 of Techkriti (4th March) is heralded by the presence of Jorge Cham, a comicist, roboticist and the creator of ‘Piled Higher and Deeper’ (PhD) Comics. Day 3 of Techkriti (5th March) consists of a number of talks by eminent personalities like Pradeep Sindhu, Mike Libecki, Ravi Nawal etc. Day 4 of Techkriti ’16 (6th March) will feature more distinguished personalities and also our e-speak section.

Techkriti ’16 also has in store an array of exhibitions to broaden your worldview and to introduce you to something new. Gesture Controlled Gaming, Smart Vehicle Expo, Super Bikes Expo, Smart Technology Expo and Defence Expo. March 4 will see an artistic vibe through the day with artists and performers from all over the world.  On 5th March, EDM’s reverberating frenzy will take the fest to a new high. Techkriti has in store a bike stunt show, where monstrous bikes will bend the rules following daring stunts by bike enthusiasts. TVF Pitchers team will engross attendees in the interactive sessions to be held on March 6th. The day will also see director, producer, actor, screenwriter, playback singer, lyricist – Farhan Akhtar rock the pro nights at IIT-K. His exhilarating performance will mark the end of this glorious 3 day fest.
