[...] My post on BlogAdda this week, talks about group-blogging. This is something I haven’t seen been talked about much but it is a definite step in the community-building of social media. It also affects each individual member of the group blog in highly advantageous ways. My personal experience with my group blogs has been nothing short of enriching and this post is also a tribute to the people whose support and guidance I’ve had in these past few years. Arzan, Deepti, Aaman and Patrix, I do hope you like the post. [...]

I don't have any formal training in writing. But with online blogging, i get to express my thoughts and ideas. I also get paid for it.

I feel bad for the negative experiences you had with blogging. Let's just be careful with our words. Choose the right words, all the time. Make your blog look like you are talking to the person and don't make the reader feel like he's reading an epic. Make it fun and interesting. :)

Thanks,

@Ramesh: I'm not familiar with either of the blogs you mentioned but a couple of things you may want to consider. When there are a lot of comments (say 20+), readers may find it tedious and not have the patience to read all of them. Many readers just read the blogpost and leave their comments. In this process, questions and even observations could get duplicated. This would happen to any blog with high readership (even a single-author one). Secondly, a large number of comments tend to be of the 'nice blog' nature. Some of these are spam but a lot of them are just people expressing their compliments. Not everyone has a strong opinion to share and not every topic garners such strong sentiments.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experiences but I don't think that is representative of all group blogs. You might want to reconsider your stance on group-blogging and choose your communities with more care the next time, round.
