Seeing is believing Navin. You are most welcome to come and personally meet both diabetes patients and cancer patients who have successfully reversed the diseases by a change in diet. I would also be very happy to gift you a copy of the DVD and book called 'Healing Cancer from inside out' where you will find over 50 years of research presented for your review, including more statistics than you shake a stick at..! Nothing however replaces the experience of actually personally watching a so called terminally ill patient reverse the disease, which I have now had the pleasure of. Come and meet Anna Haydon, her story will blow you away..

I would be delighted to challenge your opinion if you are prepared to put in the effort to get involved. Best . Danny

@Danny, sorry for having mis-reported 6 weeks as 6 days.

But other than that, I stand by what I said. Extra-ordinary claims require extra-ordinary proofs. In the way of controlled, double-blind, statistically valid research.

Also, for many, many years, James Randi was offering 1 million dollars to anybody who could show a diabetes patient being cured of diabetes. I find it hard to believe that people who can cure diabetes on a regular basis wouldn't grab that chance.

Just thought I would correct the part that you said I presented that terminal cancer can be reversed in 6 days, I actually said 6 weeks. Diabetes can reverse adult onset diabetes in 5-7 days, here is a link for you to follow (http://www.kushiinstitute.org/html/diabetes_workshop.html)>

I appreciate your skepticism, most are. I would be happy to introduce you to the mother of Diana Haydon who I believe is India's Miss World, Anna Haydon was diagnosed with stage 3 boarding stage 4 multiple myeloma in March of this year which is believed to be an incurable form of cancer. She had 4 rounds of chemo then stopped the treatment and went on the diet. By August she was completely clear of cancer,

We are launching our first Recovery Centre to rehabilitate terminally ill cancer patients in the Bhakti Vedanta Hospital at Mira Road on the 17thth January. We are starting with 7 terminally ill patients. You are most welcome to get involved to understand that is much more than a conspiracy theory.

Best regards

@Navin #1 I guess Viren needed to point out the solutions to the problem rather than focus on the problem.

#2 Read the book called "you can heal your life" by Louise hay. She survived cancer.

There are people who have survived the deadly diseases and overcome them because they realize the cause of their dis ease.

Sometimes trying new things can open doors that were unknown to you so before you conclude get some proof that the claim is false before implying that it is a tall claim.

Just because many people are ignorant does not mean everyone is unaware.

In life, experiments yield results. So be open to new things ... that is all..

A little bit of skepticism can be healthy but experimentation when done the right way can make you stronger. That's why listening is called a great skill through which a person grows. Be receptive, that's all.

@Hrush,
Sorry, my fault. I missed that line in the TEDx guidelines. I’ll update the article accordingly…

@Ronak,
1. I think Viren certainly pointed out a very important problem. However, he spent too much time talking about the problem, and not enough time talking about what somebody (other than his company) can do about this. That is why it fell short, for me. I mean what’s the point of spreading an idea when the recipient doesn’t know what to do with it?

2. About a cure for cancer: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Cancer is one of the top killers in the world today, and it is silly to claim that all those people wouldn’t have to die if they simply followed a diet. That’s sort of a slap in the face of all those who died, and their relatives.

And life would be really difficult if we were to believe every tall claim made by every sweet-talking person who came along. Some amount of scepticism is healthy...

Navin--We would never violate any TEDx guidelines. As you can see here, demos of new technology by sponsors are among the few things that are allowed at TEDx:

Nice write up, by the way. Am glad you enjoyed the conference and thank you for coming. We will be working hard to make future TEDx Mumbai conferences even better.

this was a great review!

I just think Navin could've been open minded to what Daniel Carroll spoke about Curing cancer with just a change in diet..

» Daniel Carroll giving a ridiculous talk about how you can reverse terminal cancer in 6 days by just changing your diet. (Something called the Rave Diet.)
» Sounds like a job for James Randi. Also, they just claimed that diabetes can be reversed through change in diet. This is clearly stupid.
» No proof offered for these completely ridiculous claims other than a couple of anecdotes.

I think it is possible to cure cancer. I know people who've gotten cured from cancer. The universe has answers for everything. There is nothing in it that you can't believe it to be true.

You're right.. you want proof so did you ask for proof or did you go and speak to the person before you said "no.. this is not possible"..

Well... I believe everything in this world is possible.

You can get cured of cancer just by your thoughts as well so a change in diet as well CAN CURE CANCER.

Impossible itself says I M Possible.

I think a person must never lose hope. Those who lose hope early die early.

And the thoughts of Viren Rasquinha are great, just that they are not practical enough.

I think Navin had very high expectations from the first edition of TedX which I did not attend.. and looks like it did not get such a high as hugely expected by most attendees.

You were not listening to another Anthony Robbins at Ted Mumbai my friend.

These people have worked hard to get where they want to.

Glad to know it was all worth it... and your updates to this event have been fantastic.

I warmly appreciate the stuff!

It's exciting and rocking!

Great job! Thanks a TON.
