I think Guy Kawasaki would argue that I should let go of my these principles a little bit, and pander to the masses, because that’s how the blog will be known and found, even by the people who matter. I mean, which is better: readership of 1500 of which 90% are high quality folks, or a readership of 4000 of which only 50% are high quality folks. Not an easy question to answer, right?

Navin, I really liked your point about not needing to increase content to increase readership. Also the comments policy makes a lot of sense and I think I’ll take a cue from this to use on my own blog. These are really tangible tips to make a blog much more reader-efficient and friendly.

I really don’t think that having patents should qualify anyone for becoming unfriendly, or a non-next-door-guy 🙂

The reality is that 90% of all patents (especially software patents) are crap. Including mine. There is some info about those in my resume online.
