Grey Oak Publishers along with BlogAdda is here with an opportunity for bloggers to be a part of the upcoming book ‘Urban Shots Yuva‘. Presenting to you a story writing contest where you have to submit a tale which portrays the Urban background within our country. Before you start writing the stories, please do keep in mind that the stories must be unpublished fiction. The plot, characters and the backdrop needs to be abreast with modern phenomenon that is, it should be contemporary, something everyone can relate to and most importantly, it must have the essence of freshness in it.
Who can Submit?
This is open for Indian Nationals only, whether resident in India or outside who are under the age of 24 (as of 15th September 2012).
How do you submit?
You can email the stories in a .doc (Word 97-2003 format) to contact@blogadda.com before 15th September 2012. Entries submitted after 15th September 2012 will not be evaluated.
Submission guidelines:
- Stories must be original unpublished fiction, Font size 11, Arial or Times New Roman, typed and double-spaced, and may not exceed 2,500 words in length.
- Each blogger can make no more than two submissions to the competition.
- The blogger’s name should not appear on the header or footer of the submission document, as our entrants are judged anonymously.
- Each story must be accompanied by a separate cover sheet with the blogger’s name, complete postal address, e-mail address, twitter handle/ Facebook page link (to verify you easily), phone number, a scanned copy of a valid id (student id card, driving license, passport – to verify your age), the title of the piece, number of submissions being made, and the word count.

by published do you just mean print media or web as well? I have a story I wish to enter, but I have it on my blog. Will I be able to submit that?
Is there an age limit for submissions? Do bloggers have to be college students to be eligible to enter? Or can those who are now working and have finished their studies also enter? Please clarify.
Why age limit is set to 24..those older then 24 cant apply ?
@Rashmi: Yes, it looks like the upper age limit is 24. Maybe they want to find new young writers. But if a person is within this age limit and not a student, can he or she still apply is what puzzled me as one of the ID proofs that would work was a student ID card. Maybe something else will come up for those above 24 later.

Sir,as far as i am concerned ,two top stories will be published in the book but i want to enquire what about the other stories written by several other writers which are not selected? Will they have any quota for future reference or will they be completely discarded?to email my story,is it a prerequisite that i should have my own blog ready to use it as a blogger?
